Now, I don’t know about you – but I ADORE treats, goodies, snacks, or whatever you want to call them.  I must say, I’ve certainly passed the love of treats on to both of my kids too!  Which is probably not the best thing for me to have done.  That being said, let’s discuss some of the best treats that can generally be found this time of year.

• Candy Corn – you either love it or you hate it!  Personally, I’m a huge fan!  I always have been, I mean…it’s basically just plain sugar.  I SWEAR the white tip at the top tastes better than the rest of it though!
• Twix – I think one of my favorite things about the “normal size” Twix bars that you get – is that there are two of them in the packaging!
• Caramel Apples – these are the BEST!  I can eat any version – but I especially love when there are bits of chocolate/candies or sprinkles in the caramel on top too!
• Smarties – these always seemed to be a Halloween staple – I swear, I’d come home, empty out my pillowcase and it seemed as if there were at least 50 of these goodies!  Thank goodness they’re one of my favorites LOL!
• Nerds – I mean, how can you go wrong here?  You either get the mini box full of one excellent flavor or sometimes – if you’re lucky, there’s that awesome house that has the normal sized boxes with TWO flavors!
• Butterfinger – I know, I know, typical – not to mention I see Bart Simpson in my head every-time I think of a Butterfinger!  The worst part about these (at least in  my opinion) is that I SWEAR I’m picking pieces out with a toothpick for a half-hour out of my teeth after eating one!)
• Starburst – you really just can’t go wrong with Starburst.  They’re easy to get, small/compact and they have so many flavors!
• Airheads – not something you see a whole lot of when trick-or-treating – but these are easily some of my favorite things to eat!  Which is slightly odd as I’m NOT a fan of saltwater taffy…and I think Airheads are a taffy-like substance??
• Reese’s Peanut Butter cups – Is there really an explanation needed for this one?  To be honest – I was never really a huge fan of these (I always preferred the Reeses’ Pieces over an actual Reese’s Peanut Butter cup); but, then I got pregnant with my second son….and I’m still addicted!
• Peanut or Peanut Butter M&M’s – I’m honestly a fan of whatever variety of M&M you give me – but for Halloween, some of my faves are of the peanut sort!

So, now that I’ve shared mine….time to share yours!  What are some of your favorite candies for the season??  Now, excuse me, while I go and search high/low for any or all of these candies/goodies hidden in the back of a kitchen cabinet (I hope)!
