Dropkick Murphys.
I repeat, Dropkick Murphys. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of them before, but if you haven’t, have you been living under a rock?! Well, tonight, starting at 6 PM EST/3 PM PST / 5 PM CST (I think I have that right but don’t quote me!) they are hosting a FREE concert, straight out of Fenway Park in Boston. Streaming – so you can watch it from the comfort of your couch!
If you’re a fan, get ready, as the show starts two hours from the second that this blog post goes live! Not only will you hear the Dropkick Murphys in action, but they’re also doing a song (maybe two) with Mr. Bruce Springsteen! I’m so excited about this, and I can hardly stand it! The hubby is going to be SURE to get home in time from work!
The Dropkick Murphys are a Boston formed Celtic punk band, and they’ve been around since 1996! They’re calling this concert, “Streaming Outta Fenway,” for a good reason; this is the first concert to be played LIVE in an utterly EMPTY stadium! A Boston tech company, PEGA, is assisting in streaming this live to the entire world!
This concert by the Dropkick Murphys is raising funds for the Boston Resiliency Fund, Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, and Feeding America! If you want to donate, you can do so now by texting “DONATE” to 404-994-3559. I got all of this information from the IrishCentral newsletter that I receive daily, and then verified it on the Dropkick Murphys website!
