I took this past weekend off and spent a ton of time with my boys – we visited Caledonia, MO for Grinchmas (so FUN – you should go if you’re ever there!) We saw Santa (again) and we just had a good time all around!!

Happy Grinchmas!!!

To jump back into my gift guides, I’m going to share with you a lot of the books I’ve been gifted and am currently reading – I don’t have reviews on them yet – those I’ll post later – but, I wouldn’t have asked for copies of these if they didn’t pique my interest!

Hopefully, you’ll see something that piques yours! Let me know!!

  • “How Far” by Bob Wilber. You can learn more about him on his site!  I was instantly intrigued by this book, as Mr. Wilber’s dad (Del Wilber) used to play on the St. Louis Cardinals Major League baseball team!! He played on a few others, but I’m biased, lol! Mr. Wilber himself grew up in Missouri, near to where I grew up!
  • The book itself is about triumph, tragedy, friendship, and the perseverance one has to have to achieve their goals. I’m about 100 pages in, and I love it! It’s a unique book, told from the perspectives of an up-and-coming baseball star and a hockey star, who become unlikely friends!

“Let’s Celebrate : A Low-Carb Cookbook for Year-Round Entertaining” by Natasha Newton. Check her out here! Natasha’s newest book is a celebratory compilation of her success in reaching milestone after milestone with her keto success and healthy (Southern flair) lifestyle!

She has theme night menus put together for you, along with a pot-luck menu, plus all sorts of absolutely scrumptious sounding recipes!! A few examples for you to salivate over:  Andouille sausage sheet pan breakfast ; Crab Rangoon stuffed mushrooms ; Fiesta layered dip cups ; Buffalo Cobb salad ; Creamy Tuscan Chicken soup ; Bacon wrapped stuffed pork tenderloin ; Parmesan garlic wings ; Okra fritters ; Maple bourbon Brussel sprouts ; Strawberry Shortcake trifle ; Chocolate cream cheese dip ; Mocha punch drink recipe ; & finally a Frozen Peach Bellini recipe!

This cookbook has a little bit of everything! It’s being released in January of 2023, so it will make a fantastic gift next year!

  • “Santa Claus Worldwide: A History of St. Nicholas and Other Holiday Gift-Bringers” by Tom Jerman. You can learn more about Tom and his incredible collection of Santa Clauses the world over, here!
  • Have you ever wondered where Santa Claus originated? Up until reading some of this book, I just accepted that he’s always been around – which is definitely not the case!! Mr. Jerman goes through the entire history of Santa and where he came from – along with the different variations the world over – since Santa is pretty much only used in North America!

“Hacking the God Code” by Patricia Cori. Now, this book is incredibly scary – because of how many things Ms. Cori discusses that can, are, and will more than likely eventually occur. Check out her information here!

If you’re into going down some rabbit holes to get to a truth, this book is for you! I am so glad I finished this book, and by golly, my mind was just SPINNING when I finished it! Definitely a must-read if you are like me, and don’t necessarily follow everything that mainstream media is attempting to shove down everyone’s throats 24/7!!

  • “Raised on the ’80’s” by Chris Clews. This book jumped out at me when I was perusing my emails!! Raised on the ’80’s!!! Me, me, me!!! I love everything about the ’80’s, not least of which is how much SIMPLER our lives were!! Check out Chris’ site here!
  • Some of our favorite ’80’s icons have made their way into our present day!! “Cobra Kai” on Netflix (I’m OBSESSED!!) “Stranger Things” definitely draws inspo from the ’80’s! Not to mention, “Top Gun: Maverick” – which, if you haven’t already seen – GO SEE IT!!! I saw it in theaters twice, LOL!! Now, I just need to go buy the other 2 books in this RAD series!!

“A Winter Treasury of Recipes, Crafts, & Wisdom” by Angela Ferraro-Fanning! A part of the Little Homesteader series. Now, this book is perfect for all of those littles in your life! Check out homesteader Angela Fanning’s site here – along with other amazing books she’s written!!

This book can show your kids (and you, let’s be honest LOL – I know how to make hot cocoa and that’s it!) how to track certain animals outside using their prints, how to harvest tree sap and make Maple syrup candies, how to make paintbrushes out of evergreens, & even how to make a pinecone bird feeder!!
