This is by far the strangest Mother’s Day I’ve ever seen. Even since before I became a mom, this one still takes the cake. But, regardless of that, it’s still a day to appreciate and send your love and thanks to all those amazing moms you know out there! They’ve done their best to give you a hell of a life!

I know that I will always love and appreciate everything my mom did for me, my whole life. She’s always been there. Whether she was rooting for me, telling me I was being an idiot, or helping watch her grandsons. There’s not a question I have that I can’t ask my mom. She knows about everything I’ve done, the good and the bad. I wouldn’t have it any other way. She watched me succeed, chase after my dreams, date the wrong guy (yes, idiot LOL), create two humans, and do everything else I’ve done to date – including this blog.

THANK YOU, MOM. You are my number one fan, always have been and always will be. I cherish our conversations. I cherish our memories. I cherish our friendship. I love you. I’ve passed on your bedtime phrase down to my children, in my own words, “Sweet dreams, sleep good, and I love you. More than the stars and the moon.” You gave me sweet dreams my whole life, and I hope that you’re more than proud of the mom that you were as I was growing and the mom that you are now that I’m grown.

With this mothers’ day being spent inside for the majority of the population – it makes me wonder how people are celebrating their moms. Are you sending flowers? Buying breakfast? Letting her sleep in or laze about? I texted everyone I knew that’s a mom and told them that they’re a bada** mom and happy mother’s day!

Still, I wish we could do more. Here in Missouri, it’s a bit on the chilly side. About 50 degrees. The sun is out, but it’s windy – so not an ideal day for say, a picnic. Most of the parks are starting to open back up, but with the weather the way it is, that doesn’t sound too good to me. I need it to be about 75, sunny, and not windy LOL.

If this was a different time, and things were more “normal,” whatever that means nowadays, I think I’d like to go and see a movie. Maybe have lunch and sit with a sweet frozen strawberry daiquiri in hand, with the sun in my hair, and a book in the other hand. Or perhaps, the whole family could go hiking and get out and enjoy the sunshine.

Either way, it is what it is. So, I’m spending my time indoors, celebrating my life as a mom, dealing with my two and three-year-old (and my thirty-two-year-old hubby LOL) whilst working on this blog & listening to my Rascal Flatts station (lots of Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, & Brad Paisley).

How are you celebrating this very special day? Drop me a comment and let me know! Or celebrate and enjoy it!

Love ya,

Kelly Ann
