It’s that time of year – school is starting back up and everyone is trying to squeeze in that one last getaway! My family included! This upcoming weekend we’re headed to Milwaukee for their annual Irish festival and we’re super excited!
That being said, with Declan and Tristan only being 2 & 1 respectively, things do get a bit more tricky… We can’t just throw a few outfits in our go bag and GO!! I have to start planning at least a week or so ahead of time! Fortunately, this trip is only about 5 to 5.5 hours away from us, so the drive shouldn’t be too terrible (we hope!).
I find that it’s easiest on me to make a list – Not sure how other mommas out there do this, but I’m a HUGE list fanatic. Almost everything I do comes down to some sort of list that I can check things off of as I go along ☺!
It’s also nice when other family members are going along with! On this trip we have Tyler’s mom and dad heading up there too! The plan right now is to meet up at the hotel we’ve booked and kind of go from there! What makes this even better is my mother in law is also a list maker/planner so she sends me her suggestions/ideas and we can bounce them off of each other! It’s always useful to have two sets of eyes going over everything!
What do all of you do when you’re heading out on some sort of excursion with little ones? Are there certain things you make sure you bring along every time? Like favorite animals or blankets?? My kids would go crazy if I forgot their blankies at home!!
