So, today is National cheese pizza day…. lol. I don’t know about you, but I can get behind that! So can my boys! They chowed down on some good ‘ole cheese pizza from Domino’s Pizza about a half-hour ago! I received a challenge of sorts from a friend on Twitter today about attempting to do a post on my blog for every day of October! Now, it even came with suggestions as to what to post about too as a guide of sorts! Needless to say, I’m excited about it! Which got me thinking – why can’t I find something to talk about every day?! Which of course brought me to an interesting thought of looking up what goofy kind of holiday today was celebrating that I was unaware of….. lo and behold, it’s National cheese pizza day!

I’m looking at this as a challenge of sorts for myself. I’ve been slacking in the posts department lately; I’m just very unsure of how the site looks, how many subscribers I have (not many LOL), if my posts are good enough – the list just goes on and on. So I’m taking this challenge and I’m starting with today! I got out my trusty planner and began writing out other “wacky” holidays that are celebrated day to day and made myself a list. There’s teddy bear day, chocolate milkshake day, hug your hound day, crush a can day, write a love note day, hobbit day, taco day, wear something gaudy day, and SLOTH day! I mean, there’s a holiday on almost every day! I’m sure if I checked out multiple websites, there probably IS a holiday for every day! It’s crazy! But oh so fun!

Some of these sound super odd, like “sourest” day, but I think it’ll be fun to follow some of them! Instead of only celebrating the major holidays, such as Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, Easter and more – it’ll give us a bit of variety and the chance to expand our horizons and possibly do a little bit of overindulgence – chocolate milkshake anyone?! Today was definitely a success – Declan and Tristan thoroughly enjoyed their pizza….and their cinnamon twists!

Brainstorming like this also gives me ideas for other topics I could cover or things I could look into. For example, I’m eventually going to start travelling a lot more often than I do now – and I’m sure that other countries may have days/weeks that they celebrate that are completely different from what we do here! Anything that allows you a bit of insight into another culture is always worth the time investigating. You never know who you’ll get the chance to meet or the opportunities that might arise just from you doing a bit of digging!

Now, onto my other project for the evening….creating a checklist of sorts! Wish me luck friends! Thanks for stopping by!
