Last you all heard from me, it was September 2020 (check out the post here)! That was over 200 days ago… which is completely crazy. I was so very busy with the upcoming holidays and our move from St. Louis to Farmington. We finalized our home’s sale in Affton in December for more than we were hoping, which was awesome!

Holidays:

The holidays were crazy busy, as promised, but all had a good time. To be 100% honest with you, everything kind of passed by in a blur. Living in a new home and a new city just kind of threw me for a loop. We are always up to something too, which doesn’t help with the crazy.

Around Thanksgiving, I walked out the door to go to my parent’s house, which is now an hour away, and a cute orange tabby kitty waltzed into my back yard. Long story short, now we have a new cat – and his name is Killian – he likes to escape from the house and go gallivanting off into the yard or wherever while we chase him, cursing him the whole time.

Grace, the new puppy we got last year is GIANT now – and still just as playful, lol! Gunner, Brenna, and her all get along wonderfully, and they generally come everywhere with us if it’s allowed.

Christmas was kind of sad, as I’m sure it was for you too, in a way. COVID just put a damper on so many things and changed so many routines. Our families had COVID around Christmas, so all of our celebrating got pushed into January and was just WEIRD.

The boys:

Declan turned 4 in October, and Tristan the big 3 in January. They are so dang big now, and I swear I can’t keep up with how fast they grow (and I’m NOT OK with it!)! Declan started pre-K in January, too! He’s been loving school and comes home daily with stories of Mrs. Marsha and his new friends!

Declan being in school means Tristan and I are home alone most days after I get Declan to school. So we’re getting in extra snuggles and playtime during my work breaks.

Work:

Speaking of work, I started working for my new manager around October last year. October-December was insane for me – learning the new things I’d be doing day to day, taking over specific tasks I wasn’t used to, plus it being year-end. I was working overtime most days, figuring things out and ensuring everything was done!

Now that I’ve been in that position for a while, things have slowed down drastically and aren’t as crazy, which is nice as I can accomplish most of my work without working any overtime! Since COVID began, I’ve been working from home too, and now we’ve passed the year mark. I absolutely LOVE IT and never want to go back to an actual office, and if I get my way, I won’t be.

I log into my Flexjob account every day to see what kind of opportunities there are out there for me with my passions, talents, and wants! In case you aren’t sure what Flexjobs is, check out my post on it here. I figure if I can nail down a job beforehand with my experience, then perhaps I can avoid going back to an actual office setting too!

More fun info:

The new home is a disaster right now, what with the holidays, all of our crazy escapades, and our recent upper bacterial infections that nailed my whole family! All four of us had it – for over 3 WEEKS! Declan wasn’t able to go to school, so I was home most days with both boynadoes, plus working. It was all I could do to get my 40 hours in each week. Cleaning was the last on my priority list.

Now, we’re on day 4 of antibiotics for Streptococcal bacteria. The same bacteria that causes strep throat – but none of us ACTUALLY had strep. We had every other symptom on the planet, but not actual strep. It was the craziest thing. When I say I was physically exhausted every day, I mean it was hard to WALK. I finally broke down after two weeks and got tested for COVID, thinking that had to be the culprit. But the test came back negative – I mean, imagine my surprise! I was SHOCKED! So, an urgent care trip for us 4, and a lab test tested for over 30 strains of bacterial and viral infections; and that’s what we have/had. Strep without the strep. Ridiculous.

Looking forward:

So now that it’s April, and we’re all on medications, I feel like it’s a whole new world out there! Albeit it’s crazy that it’s April! Spring has arrived, my family is mostly healthy, the sun is shining a lot, and it’s about time to start planning on mini-vacations here and there. Since Declan and Tristan are a bit older now, Tyler and I want to go camping. This is always something I looked forward to when I was younger, and I think the boys will get a kick out of it! Plus, camping doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, either!

The boys and I, March of 2021. Declan is 4, Tristan is 3, and I'm 34!! Crazy how time flies!
Love my crazy family!

Anyways, my goal with this blog is to focus on it if I can! I had way too much time “off” and have so much to talk about and read, review, etc.!

So, here’s to 2021; I hope that this year has been better for the lot of you, and I hope you’ll drop me a comment and let me know how you’ve been!

Love ya,

Kelly Ann
