Can you BELIEVE it’s already June?! I sure can’t! This year, along with most of the years in my recent memory, has flown by.

In recent years, there have been so many changes in my life that I hardly know what’s up and what’s down anymore. Anyone else? I mean, some days, I feel like it’s all super repetitive.

Alarm at 7:15, up and logged on for work by 7:30, work a few morning reports, get the kids breakfast, and turn on a Disney movie or show. (We’re currently playing the original Chip & Dale on repeat). Work until 4, 5, or 6, depending on the day, lol. Figure out dinner – typically frozen pizza or soup.

The weeks fly! Don’t even get me started on when school is in session – as then it’s even crazier!

Then there are weeks where we have something going on every night. Tuesdays are typically dance class in the evenings (shout out to O’Faolain Academy of Irish Dance! We love you, Jen!), but lately, we’ve tossed in some t-ball. Declan and Tristan love everything they get to do and experience, but it definitely takes its toll. I’m impressed if we make it home with one or both of them awake on Tuesdays.

Since school’s out for summer (I’m totally singing the song now – I’m sure you are too!), we have the opportunity to visit with their Grandparents, who have a pool. Believe me; we put it to good use! In fact, Declan wants to be an Olympic swimmer when he “grows up!” I’m pretty sure Tristan just wants to play in the water, but he can also swim really well.

They’re both comfortable without life jackets or floaties and can easily swim across the pool, properly using their arms and legs. (Don’t worry, they’re NEVER left alone when they aren’t wearing safety devices – in fact, we recommend these – we LOVE them! You can usually find them at Walmart!)

Bonus time:

Another bonus about summertime (now I’m singing the song by Kid Rock about summertime in Northern Michigan – which, if you haven’t seen my post about how GORGEOUS Michigan is, you should take a look) is everything else that goes on! Think about the festivals, car shows, county fairs, parades, garage sales, and more!

There is typically not one weekend that goes by that we have nothing to do. Now that the kids have been attending school, they also have way more friends than before. This means more birthday parties – in fact, we have one to go to tomorrow – go figure. They have a blast at those parties, though, so they’re always worth it – even if I would rather bury my nose in a book.

As you can see, my life is a whirlwind – but that’s why I called this blog Living, Loving, & Exploring. I live the shit out of this life I’ve been blessed with. As Jack says in “Titanic,” “I figure, life’s a gift, and I don’t intend on wasting it. You never know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you, to make each day count.” Then Rose counters, “To making it count.”

Do you make it count?

I have about 20,000 emails to go through – that’s not a joke – and I imagine I have some pretty cool offers to test out some products, or books, or what-have-yous. This blog has definitely given me an outlet to be me, write about things that I find fascinating, interesting, or different, and meet new folks.

Who knows when I’ll get through them – or more likely – IF I’ll get through them. There are just so many amazing things that I have planned to do. At some point this summer, I will try to make it back out to CO to visit one of my best friends. I’d love to bring the kids, too! Plus, since I work from home (for now), I could drive out on the weekend and then stay for however long to work AND play/explore!

This weekend, we have the birthday party I mentioned earlier and a hometown deal called Country Days that we hope to bring the boys to. There are rides, games, food, music; all the best things. After that, I’m having a ME night, heading up to visit my mom, watching Top Gun (the original), and seeing the NEW Top Gun Sunday! Will I be running around like a nut? YEP.

Would I change that? Nope. Here’s to June 2022; summertime, gorgeous weather; and bar-b-que!

Love ya,

Kelly Ann
