California – the rich, the famous. This book dives into social media circles that the majority of us aren’t all that familiar with! This fictional gem has intrigue, a great story line, and an entertaining main character. Meet Jack…Salvo that is. He’s a teacher, and a very well paid undercover detective! He’s tasked with finding a beautiful young, rich girl, who’s gone missing; but one quickly discovers that she’s not just missing, she’s unfortunately passed away (and that is NOT me giving anything away – you find that out in the first couple of pages!). What ensues are loads of lies, intrigue, witty banter, and detective work.
There are several high-stakes characters weaved into this story – and the way that the author gets you from point A to point B is excellent! There were a few times I’ll admit, I was a bit lost, but I soon would figure it out. This book kept me guessing the entire time I was reading it! I DID figure out “who dun it” about 5 pages before I was led to the inevitable conclusion and reveal of the criminal figure! I must say, I was impressed.
I’ve discovered that there are additional Jack Salvo books out there by Mr. Jesse Miles, and I’m definitely looking forward to getting my hands on them! If you have anyone you know who loves a good intrigue, or a good detective story, check this guy out! His website is Jessemilesbooks.com!
