Seriously, the feel good and happy story of the year! This was such a sweet, and short little book that depicts the best couple of love stories out there! All between a husband and his wonderful wife – and their love affair with ALL of their pets (and I do mean ALL!)
Reading about the life and multiple loves of Mr. Freeman and his wife was very humbling. There aren’t a whole lot of people in the world who would drop EVERYTHING they were doing to backtrack during a freezing cold rain to pick up a stray pup and try to help that pup out. Most of the people I know simply see the animal, shake their head sadly (if even) and continue on their way, hardly thinking about the animal again. This beautiful couple went out of their way all the time. They rescued over 17 dogs (a mixture of multiple breeds, a lot being the beautiful Golden!) throughout their 42 year marriage!
While immersing yourself in this short bio, you get to meet every one of their incredible dogs that they were fortunate enough to host either during the dogs entire life, or its’ remaining years. You venture on a journey highlighting an incredible musical career along with Mr. Freeman as well. This gentleman would be a wonderful soul to meet – if you’re ever fortunate enough! It would be a pleasure, in my opinion. He’s travelled all over, created wonderful music, taught numerous courses, made friends with some high up there folks, and cared for many people and pets – all of whom it appears he and his wife considered family.
This is definitely a not-to-be-missed book! Would make the perfect little Christmas gift for anyone interested in helping dogs, saving animals, or just reading a feel good story!
