I wanted to take some time today to fill you in on a secret about cat litter. No secret, just some handy information for any cat parents out there! I’ve had cats living with me for over half of my life. We snuck a kitten into my parents’ home when I was about seventeen, and even though mom told us to get rid of the “rat,” we ended up keeping her. Shadow was a beautiful cat, and she is greatly missed.

The one thing that all of us hated about her, though, was her litter box. I’m sure you’ve been there too. With only one cat, we could usually get by with cleaning it out once a day. So there was that, at least.

Nowadays, though, I’m grown with a family, and my family now includes five cats (that’s right, FIVE!). So changing the litter has to be done at least twice a day. Not only do I have to change the litter twice a day, but we have five boxes! I figure it’s probably better all-around to have one box per cat.

Flash – forward:

I discovered PrettyLitter a little over two years ago, and I can never go back to the other brands. PrettyLitter has some fantastic benefits in general, but honestly, the one that makes it all worth it for me is the lack of smell. I mean that overwhelming, you walk into a house and immediately think, oh, this person has cats, smell. You know the one.

The formula for PrettyLitter has to do with the mini crystals that they use instead of a traditional litter. The crystals absorb the cat urine, so when I’m cleaning the litter box out, all I have actually to remove is the feces. Once I’ve removed that, I simply mix the remainder of the crystals around, which helps to eliminate the smell!

I was super hesitant to try this litter out when I first found it. After thoroughly reviewing the website, the accolades, and all of the information out there, it came down to price for me. My husband and I have had our fair share of financial struggles, and we still do now. So, to spend a little more than $20.00 on one bag of cat litter, and per the website, you need one kit per cat, it was a bit excessive.

It costs me a little more than $100 per month to use PrettyLitter, as I have five cats, as I mentioned before. It’s more than worth it, though. To truly reap the benefits of this litter, you have to have one bag of the litter per each cat you have per month. So if you have one cat, all you need is $20.00 for the month to have clean, fresh-smelling, health-monitoring cat litter for your adored companion.

The truth:

Honestly, I put off trying PrettyLitter for a couple of months. Then I finally was so tired of the smell, the multiple trips to the trash can with bags of literal CRAP that I caved. I talked it over with Tyler first. We agreed that I’d buy two bags to test it out and see how it went before fully committing.

That was sometime in 2018, and I’ve never looked back. I adore this brand and always will. They have several other pluses going for them as well, though. For one, this is one of the only “health-monitoring” litters out there. It’s created specifically to test a cat’s urine for any issues, and if the litter changes a particular color, you will have to head to the vet! Check out this page here with testimonies from cat owners about all things PrettyLitter!

On top of that, there’s the convenience. It’s a subscription service, and the bags of litter ship straight to you. No muss, no fuss. I never find myself driving to the closest store at 10 o’clock, trying to find cat litter to save myself and my sanity!

Lastly, if you enjoy it and appreciate how much it saves you from everything that usually comes with owning a feline companion, they allow you to share the love you have and earn money from it. You can sign up with their affiliate program to earn money! How great is that!? (This is sponsored, and if you do choose to purchase from any links contained herein, I will earn a commission.)

YES!

Regardless of the earning potential, the bottom line for us is, we will never again use generic cat litter. It’s not worth the head-ache, smell, and potential to not save my cat’s life!

PrettyLitter has an ongoing discount code you can use if you’re a first time customer for 10% off your first order! Please give it a go, and if you do, drop me a comment! I’d love to hear about other peoples’ experiences with this litter and what you’ve discovered!
