Wow. It’s been a bit since I posted something. I was on top of this whole blog thing, but life has a way of changing things up! I have so many things going on right now; it’s hard to keep up with everything! Thus, the blog slipped! But I’m back!

I don’t know about you, my friend, but if you’re anything like me, you have a zillion things on your plate at once! Am I right? My life has gotten to the point that each night, I am counting as far as I can until I finally pass out from all the counting! Ridiculous, I know. But I just never bought the whole counting sheep thing lol.

A book I've reviewed previously - AMAZING!
A book I’ve reviewed previously – AMAZING!

I have a ton of books I’m reading and will be reviewing on the blog as soon as I can read them. Here’s my review on, ‘Dancing to the Darkest Light, that I did a while back! I’m a fast reader in general. But throw in two toddlers, potty-training, working full time, and moving (did I forget to mention that we’re moving!?) and time is a far-fetched wish upon a star!

I’ve got some product reviews coming too – but I like to try out said products first, and THEN review them! So I can then be genuine about them! Make sense? I’ve got hand soaps, pet-products, personal products and more! If you’re interested, here’s a prior review I did on hand sanitizer from Zoey Naturals!

YET, I still have a million things going on elsewhere in my life. So, I’ve just been taking things day-to-day. My boys and I went on a vacation to the Ozarks in southern Missouri. I’m fortunate, and one of my family members owns a home right on the lake, so he lets us head down there and hang out if it’s open!

We were there from Saturday, the 20th, through Friday, the 26th. It was INCREDIBLE. I overate junk, played a TON of scrabble (and YAHTZEE!), played with the boys, watched some tv with my mom, drank too much, and talked to my parents a TON! Oooh, let’s not forget the swimming shenanigans! I mean it’s a lake, you have to swim! (Unless you’re my dad. He doesn’t swim. He fishes)

^ This incredible butterfly stopped by and literally hung out with me for over 5 minutes. I can’t even get butterflies to land on me in a butterfly house! If the rumors are true, someone was sending me some sort of message! Any ideas?!

Just like I said a while back, we have all got to take time out for ourselves. I want this blog to succeed. I want to wake up one day and be a millionaire. Yet I know that neither of those things is going to happen if I don’t get off my ass and bust it! Let alone the other life goals I have to accomplish!

I hope I haven’t lost my friends in the blogging world for being away too long! I will be doing my best to keep up and post like I was. However, as I said above, I have a TON of things going on!

Oh, yes, the move.

One of my reasons for life. Tristan.
One of my reasons for life. Tristan.

Let me fill you all in on a secret. My hubby and I ADORE our kids. I mean, we can’t get enough of them. I have approximately 800,000 pictures on my phone….of my boys. Declan is ALMOST 4 (WHEN did that happen!?), and Tristan is 2.5 (he went to the doctor yesterday, and the doctor assumed he was 3.5…. he’s that BIG! 🙂 )

Declan, our *almost* four year old

Back to what I was saying, our kids are our world. With the recent unrest, protesting, and destroying places/objects/people/things/history, we have come to the point that we’re no longer comfortable. We live in the county in St. Louis, Missouri. Some of you may recognize that name. Think Ferguson, a shooting, a few years ago. It’s not something we’re proud of, nor is it something that anyone is likely to forget.

Our hometown is consistently in the news for one reason or another, and it’s usually not in a good light. (A GOOD reason is the STL Zoo!) A few weeks back, there was a protest less than a three-minute drive from our home. I shouldn’t feel like I might lose my home or my valuables to thugs who don’t know what a peaceful protest is. Since I wasn’t a part of the protest, I wasn’t sure if it would be peaceful, or if buildings would be burned down with people murdered or killed. One never knows these days, unfortunately.

We packed up our car before the protest started with our prized possessions, including the teddy bear I’d had since the day I was born! (Thanks again, dad!) Then the boys and I headed to the “farm” as we call it to spend a long weekend with Tyler’s parents and escape. We shouldn’t feel like we HAD to leave our home. We shouldn’t have felt like we might not have a home when we came back!

I know that this is a super touchy subject for most folks out there, so I’m not saying this without careful thought. My point of view on the whole subject can’t even be discussed, without possible repercussions of being dismissed from my full-time job. How fair is that? Again, not wanting to be too political, but why is it I can flaunt my religion without being persecuted. Still, I can’t flaunt my other opinions without being shamed for one thing or another? I just don’t get it.

SO, after all of that, if you’re even still reading at this point, we’ve decided to move. Our current home is double the price of the home we’re planning on buying about an hour south from home. We can still visit family and be here whenever we want to, and the savings we’ll incur by moving are HUGE! Money is always tight for us, so the savings on a mortgage are incremental in helping us keep saving for the future!

It’s a huge undertaking to do, especially since we haven’t even been in our home now for two entire years (that’ll happen over Labor Day weekend). So, onto the next chapter in our life! A move, working from home, and the other zillion things I have ongoing!

If you’ve stopped by and read my long, drawn-out, obnoxious post, I thank you. If you have anything rude or mean to say, that’s your prerogative, and if you leave me a comment, I’ll respond! This is me. You either like me, or you don’t. If you’re curious about what else my brain thinks about, here are some of my other posts! Thoughts on Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, & taking breaks!

Love ya,

Kelly Ann
