It’s snowing outside; the fire is burning in your fully decorated fireplace. You have ‘The Santa Claus’ playing on the television, and you’re wrapped up in your favorite Christmas blanket. You start to smell the new brand of coffee you’ve put in your coffee pot wafting into the room you’re in, and you can’t wait to take that first, fresh sip!
Can you imagine? I know I certainly did! Marie, from Fire Department Coffee in Rockford, Illinois, reached out to me in November to see if I’d be interested in doing a taste test of some of their coffee flavors so that I could share it with you all! I say local, as Illinois is “my” neighbor, since my family and I are in Missouri! I couldn’t turn down a coffee invite, so I had Marie send me her two favorite flavors, Vanilla Sprinkle Donut Coffee & Medium Roast.

I’ve been testing these flavors out almost daily since receiving them, and I have to say, they pass my taste test! My father-in-law’s too! He didn’t want to try out the vanilla sprinkle one (that’s not his style!), but his exact words upon tasting the medium roast were:
“The coffee has a robust characteristic full-bodied flavor, without a bitter after taste. I’m partial to Gevalia coffee, but this coffee is actually super close!”
Considering my FIL has a cup (or two, or three) cups of coffee a day – that’s a glowing review!! Now, I’ve been making myself a cup of vanilla sprinkle coffee during the workweek to help perk myself up, and it’s a perfect morning pick-me-up for me! I thoroughly enjoy the flavor, especially after a few scoops of sugar (I love my sugary drinks, sorry-not-sorry).
Once I had the pleasure of enjoying those flavors, I wanted to see what else was available:
So, after perusing the website firedeptcoffee.com, I discovered that they have SPIRIT INFUSED coffees! Bourbon, whiskey, rum, and tequila!!! There are so many other limited edition ones too! I will be trying some of these in the future! There are even some extra caffeinated coffees and espressos, plus a decaffeinated option for folks who can’t do the caffeine!
As much as I truly enjoyed the flavor of the coffee, and all of the different options they have flavor-wise, the best part, in my opinion of this company, is that it’s owned and operated by veterans and actual firefighters! Each purchase of Fire Department Coffee goes to help a HERO in need! Ten percent of the proceeds also provide essential resources/assistance to first responders in need!
With a company like this that has spirit-infused coffees and a portion of the proceeds go to heroes in need, where can you go wrong?! The answer is simple; you can’t go wrong! The website for Fire Department Coffee also has a bunch of gear (are you salty and want to show off? They’ve got a shirt for that!), as well as a coffee of the month club!
